Description
Wildlife
Only two ponds remain on site where once there were more. They are in close proximity and support important populations of amphibians and a sporadic population of greater crested newts. Wetland plants in and around the ponds include yellow iris, gipsywort, soft and hard rushes and remote sedge. The ponds are set in tiny fragment of woodland on London clay, which was formally part of the much larger Toots Wood. The woodland is likely to be ancient in origin and is dominated by oak, with other species, including willows also present. Bramble and are abundant in the ground flora.Facilities
