Description

Opened in 2006, Mayflower Park is a park and wetland nature reserve, created through the redevelopment of the Worcester Park sewage works.

Wildlife

As the water and land habitats mature they will support an increasing variety of birds. Formerly present on the sewage works site were breeding sedge warbler and tufted duck. Passage migrants included northern wheatears, swallows, martins and swifts. Snipe, greenfinch, goldfinch, linnet and tree sparrow have already made their presence known. Slow worms are also present on the site.
