Sutcliffe Park is a large green space that contains an athletics stadium. It is a unique park in Greenwich in that it was re-modelled by the Environment Agency between 2003-2004 to form a multi-functional open space that provides improved flood management of the Quaggy River. In periods of increased water flow, the flood alleviation system slowly lets water into the park. The system allows for a capacity of 35 Olympic swimming pools. The stadium is used for regional athletics events. Once a year the park is used for the London mini-marathon trials.
