This large park contains a number of areas of good wildlife habitat, as well as more formal landscapes. The site described here comprises the less intensively managed areas of the park and the lake. Havering Walking the Way to Health scheme (WHI) uses this site.

Description
Wildlife
Tall rough grassland with some scrub and scattered trees border a section of the River Ravensbourne. Trees include elder, ash, alder and hawthorn, with a ground cover of ivy. West of the tributary stream are a number of small wooded areas comprising stands of oak and crack willow, surrounded by scrub.The largest lake can support over 100 mute swans, as well as Canada geese. The lake has a number of wooded islands, on one of which is a small heronry. Kingfishers are regularly seen.Facilities
