About GiGL
Greenspace Information for Greater London CIC (GiGL) is the capital’s environmental records centre – we mobilise, curate and share data that underpin our knowledge of London’s natural environment. We enable our stakeholders to make informed decisions in policy and practice.
A Growing Partnership
GiGL works with public, private and voluntary sector organisations who value what we do.
We’ve worked with some of our partners for many years and their needs have shaped our development since our first days as the London Biological Recording Project in 1996, to our launch as a fully fledged Environmental Records Centre in 2006, and again as a Community Interest Company (CIC) in 2013. They continue to guide us and help us develop ever greater uses for the data we hold.
The GiGL timeline illustrates the 20 year development of the capital’s record centre from 1996 through to 2016. A GiGLer article Strategic Thinking charts the history of GiGL over the same timeline.
