Hanworth Park is very large park, situated behind the Feltham Airparcs Leisure Centre. It has two football/rugby pitches and two tennis courts. The small playground comprises of two swings and a multi-play area for the over 5’s, a rocker for any age and a netted climbing frame for the over 9’s. Seating for adults is also provided. The park was opened for public use in 1949. Featured in the Domesday Book, the area was later used by Henry VIII as a hunting ground, and from 1916 – 1929 it was used as an airfield. Saxon for Hana’s enclosed or homestead. Listed in the Domesday book as ‘Haneworde’. It was also the site of the original London Airport.
