Situated over and around the rail tunnel immediately north of Hadley Wood station, this site presents a mosaic of wildlife habitats. These include the wooded railway embankment and some open meadows bounded by old hedgerows.The site is adjacent to a school, which uses it for environmental education.

Description
Wildlife
Areas of grassland support common knapweed, various buttercups, common sorrel, cuckoo-flower and fleabane. Old hedges have expanded into meadow areas to form blocks of developing hawthorn scrub. The former also feature pedunculate oak, ash, blackthorn and elder.The site is also of value for birds, insects and reptiles.
