The Priory is a popular and sizeable park with a variety of trees and shrubs. The Philosophers’ Garden on the north-western side of the park is a quiet area bounded by fences and hedges and includes a wildlife pond. The park won a Green Flag Award in 2020, and the Noel Park Healthy Walkers project uses this site as part of the Walking the Way to Health (WHI) scheme.

Description
Wildlife
Mistletoe once grew in the park on a false-acacia, at one of very few sites in the borough. Unfortunately, the branch on which it grew blew down in gales in December 2006. A reintroduction might be attempted. Other uncommon plants include spiked sedge in the Philosophers' Garden, where the grassland also supports plentiful bird's-foot-trefoil. Friends of Priory Park has also recorded species such as Maidenhair tree, an avenue of London planes, sessile and English oaks, honey locust, weeping beech, snowy mespilus, black pine and Chinese privet, as well as Muntjac deer, hedgehogs, bats, red kite, greater spotted and green woodpeckers, redwings, fieldfare, and mistle thrushes. There is a wildlife pond in the Philosophers' Garden where frogs and newts have been recorded, and some of the grass is left long to encourage wild flowers like wild carrot and cranesbill.Facilities
