The shrubbery in this small park off a busy road provides nesting cover for an unusually wide variety of breeding birds. The site has a quiet, secluded atmosphere, with the surrounding houses providing a buffer from the noise of nearby traffic.

Description
Wildlife
The dense shrubbery that gives this small park its name consists largely of hawthorn with small amounts of wych elm and varnish-tree, and a thick carpet of ivy. It provides nesting cover for wrens, blackbirds, song thrushes, dunnocks and robins - quite a variety of breeding birds for such a small urban park. There are a good number of trees in the park and these include mature horse-chestnut, false acacia, limes, ornamental cherries and sycamores.Facilities
