Friary Park, in Friern Barnet, is a popular meeting place for families. Its most interesting ecological features are the veteran oak trees that pre-date the park, and a small stream near the southwestern boundary. The stream is a tributary of Pymme’s Brook and follows a fairly natural course.With help from local school children, Barnet Council has recently planted a new native woodland, to provide for future generations. Friary Park won a Green Flag Award in 2007-8 and 2008-9.

The park's old trees support interesting woodland birds such as nuthatch and treecreeper. Near the stream, wildflowers such as cow parsley, lesser celandine, dog violet and garlic mustard thrive amongst the long grass.Facilities
