Pickhurst Green is a large recreation ground with some attractive wild areas on its edges. The largest area of woodland is Cupola Wood, a possibly a much-altered fragment of ancient woodland in the north of the recreation ground. A footpath and cycleway around the southern edge of the recreation ground has a remarkably rural quality in such an urban part of the Borough, with the appearance of a green lane. The path winds between narrow belts of trees and shrubs, including a huge old oak.
