Description

This interesting site was once woodland known as Whitehorse Wood, part of the Great North Wood.

Wildlife

The fine mature sessile oaks are the highlight of this park, but there are also pedunculate and Turkey oaks, hawthorns, sycamore and Norway maple, and cherries. Purple hairstreak butterflies breed in the tall oaks, and may be seen around the tree canopies on warm summer evenings.
