Description

This interesting site is situated over the top of Wood Green Tunnels. It is mainly grassland and scrub with several mature trees.

Wildlife

The grassland is dominated by the introduced highland bent, the locally uncommon yellow oat-grass and supports good populations of common butterflies.Scrub of hawthorn, elder and bramble provides ideal nesting opportunities for birds. Of the mature trees, about a dozen or so are beech and one a holm oak.
