This section of the Fray’s River flows through urban Uxbridge and Cowley. The parts adjacent to open spaces (such as Rockingham Recreation Ground) hold a reasonable variety of wetland plants and waterfowl. There are two small wooded islands in the river, situated between private houses and an industrial estate. The river forms a valuable wildlife corridor through this built-up area. There is public access along parts of the Fray’s River, but not to the islands.

Description
Wildlife
At the water's edge, reed sweet-grass, reed canary-grass and fool's water-cress provide refuge and foraging for moorhens, as well as habitat for dragonflies and damselflies. Beneath the water surface occur fennel-leaved pondweed and water-starwort. On the islands, crack willow appears dominant, with occasional poplars. Mallards and mute swans nest on the islands.Facilities
