Description

A small wood, possibly ancient, with a footpath running through it.

Wildlife

The woodland is dominated by ash, with frequent pedunculate oak and sycamore. Areas of beech, occasional hornbeam and horse chestnut make up the rest of the canopy. In the shrub layer are field maple, hawthorn, English elm and cherry laurel. The woodland floor is dominated by bramble, common nettle and ground ivy with frequent bugle, wood false-brome and red campion.Speckled wood butterflies can be seen here.
