Description

This site is an important local open space site that has been enhanced for wildlife and people by the Friends of Lambeth Walk Open Space.

Wildlife

Although most of the site consists of amenity grassland, some small areas of the open space have a relaxed mowing regime and have been planted/sown with wildflower mixes along some shallow inclined banks along the northern edge. The flower mix includes red clover, red campion, primrose, ox-eye daisy, bulbous buttercup, cornflower, corncockle, sainfoin, corn marigold and small flowered crane's-bill. These plants provide nectar and pollen for invertebrates, particularly bees and hoverflies. Several planted shrubberies around the site attract common birds.
