Much of Beverley Brook is contained within a narrow corridor between gardens and housing. However, it has more natural character where it flows beside Sir Joseph Hood Memorial Wood, at Coombe Hill Golf Course and beside Wimbledon Common.

Access: Free public access (part of site)
Area: 2.16 ha
Description
Wildlife
The Beverley Brook enters Merton alongside Sir Joseph Hood Memorial Wood. Downstream of here it marks the boundary with Kingston borough all the way to the Robin Hood Roundabout on the A3, close to where it enters Richmond Park. Its upper reaches support little wildlife beyond the banks of the brook. As it approaches the Wimbledon to Surbiton railway, however, there is a confluence with the Pyl Brook and here there are two relict wetlands tucked behind the sports facilities.Having passed beneath the railway, the brook then flows into the Malden Golf Course and Thames Water Pipe Track wildlife site. Just beyond there it is joined by the Coombe Brook, which drains Coombe Hill west of the golf course. Much of the section downstream of here can be followed on the Beverley Brook Walk (beginning at New Malden Station). The brook passes beneath the A3 and on through Coombe Wood (East), to enter Wimbledon Common.Facilities
