Cherry Wood is a small woodland, mainly of oak and possibly ancient, lying within an area of 1930s housing. It is a remnant of a once larger area of wood and is one of the very few woodlands of Merton borough. The site is a Local Nature Reserve and is treasured by local residents. Much of the management work is undertaken by an active Friends group.

Description
Wildlife
Most of the older trees are oaks, with some ash. Not many woodland wildflowers have survived decades of recreational use, but bluebells, ramsons and wood melick can be seen in the spring. The wood attracts a good variety of birds to the area, including all three species of woodpecker, chiffchaff and tawny owl.Facilities
