Landscaped in the early 1980s, this sizeable park has a good range of created habitats, including a lake, a smaller pond and extensive areas of scrub and woodland. The city farm, opened in 1977 and one of the longest established city farms in the capital, is a highly valued educational resource, providing children and others with contact with animals. The farm is home to pigs, sheep, pygmy goats and birds of prey among other animals, and also has an education centre. The farm is open from Tuesday to Sunday in summer 10am-5pm, and 10am-4pm in winter. It is closed on Mondays, except Bank Holidays.Newham Striders use part of this site a Walking the Way to Health (WHI) scheme; see link for details.
