This attractively landscaped small park, on the site of the former Forest Gate Hospital, offers good habitat including ponds, mature trees and dense shrubberies.Of the two ponds, the larger, northern one is situated within a hollow, and grades into wet grassland. The smaller pond, near Forest Lane, is raised, and is used by schools for pond dipping. Forest Lane Park won a Green Flag Award again in 20089.
