Wildlife

Young and mature trees include ash, Norway maple, and plum. To the north of the site is a young community orchard with a large number of apple species and Kentish Cob. Introduced shrubs have been planted in small beds, with dense climbers mainly along the northern boundary. Amenity grassland species include perennial rye grass, cock's-foot, dandelion, creeping buttercup and ribwort plantain. An uncut margin contains more diversity, while a mature native hedge is present along the railside boundary. Stag beetle and house sparrow are recorded locally.
