Description

This is a small public park in a congested area, which has been redesigned to provide a children’s playground. The playground occupies most of the eastern half, and is colourful, modern and well used, with a good range of play equipment.

Wildlife

Mature trees, including London plane and lime, presumably date from an earlier, more formal, garden square design. In the centre is a small, secluded garden with flower beds, screened from the playground by hedging. A broad belt of shrubbery along the northern side, made up largely of evergreens such as spotted laurel, holly and Oregon-grape, provides good nesting cover. Breeding birds include blackbird, great tit and robin, while blue tit and woodpigeon are frequent visitors.

Facilities

Playground.
